Join Me and Learn to Paint Portraits In Oil!
One of my favorite things to paint is portraits and it can be yours too. Portraits can be one of the most challenging subjects. It takes a combination of many skills from both painting and drawing to create paintings of people. Join me and I will teach you the approaches to paint portraits! So Join me for an amazing painting adventure. This class is the 4th in my portraiture series of courses. To take this class I require students to have taken at least Beg. Oil Painting I and Beginning Painting 2, as well as the Portrait Drawing Fundamentals and the Drawing for Painting Class and Fundamental of Portrait 1. If you haven’t had my classes I require you to have one year’s oil painting experience and be very comfortable drawing the portrait from the front, profile and 3/4 views.
What We Will Learn
This class is a two part series that covers the Basics of Paint the head in oil. Using a limited palette of colors, we will first paint the portrait in monochrome using reductive method, then progress to using reductive method using color. In part 2 of the class we will study direct painting or Alla Prima painting using a monochrome palette for one of the heads and continue painting the portrait using full color in Alla prima. It will be a wonderful painting adventure. Join today!
