Join Me and Learn to Paint Portraits In Oil!
One of my favorite things to paint is portraits and it can be yours too. Portraits can be one of the most challenging subjects. It takes a combination of many skills both painting and drawing to create paintings of people. Join me and I will teach you the techniques to paint portraits in oil! So join me for this wonderful painting adventure. This class is 3rd in my series on portraiture(starting with Drawing Fundamentals of Portraits, Drawing Portraits for Painting and Basic Portrait Painting in Oil).
To take this class I require students to have taken at least Beg. Oil Painting I and Beginning Painting 2, as well as the Portrait Drawing Fundamentals and the Drawing for Painting Class. If you haven’t had my class I require you to have one year’s oil painting experience and be very comfortable drawing the portrait from the front, profile and 3/4 views. What We Will Learn
This class is a two part series to cover the Basics of Portrait painting. In Part 1 of the series will use a limited palette of colors, we will first paint the skull in monochrome using a reductive painting method, then we will progress to direct painting method to paint the Asaro head in Monochrome. In Part 2 of the class we will study reductive painting in color to paint the nose and mouth. We continue learning to paint the individual features of the face in color using direct painting methods. So join me and learn to paint the landmarks of the head.
Students can continue this class who want to improve their portrait painting skills in a guided study or mentored program. Contact me for more information info@idahoartclasses.com
